EQUALITY FLORIDA |
"In her time in the Florida House, Rep. Kelly Skidmore
has been one of our the strongest champions for LGBT
rights. She has been the lead sponsor of the Florida
Competitive Workforce act, a bill that would make it
illegal to fire someone or deny them housing because of
their sexual orientation or gender identity. In 2008,
she was one of the leading voices on the House floor
calling for the inclusion of LGBT youth in a safe
schools bill. She has also co-sponsored legislation to
repeal Florida's shameful ban on gay and lesbian
adoption. Rep. Skidmore received a 100% rating on our
candidate questionnaire.
Both of Rep. Skidmore's potential opponents, Rep. Ellen
Bogdanoff and Rep. Carl Domino, have abysmal records on
LGBT equality and neither returned our questionnaire.
This State Senate race is critical to the balance of
power in Tallahassee and has been named the #1 Target by
the Democratic Senate Victory Campaign."
